Barragan Pouch

Barragan Pouch

Today, beads are used to adorn. Throughout time, they have also been an important part of spiritual ceremony. In old English the word bead is synonymous with prayer. A beadsman is one who prays for the benefit of others.

Each piece of this collection is handcrafted by the artisans of the Wixarika tribe of the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains in Northern Mexico. This collaboration implements traditional designs with a modern discernment.  All designs are consistent with the core values of the Wixarika, intended to deepen the connection with spirit by channeling visions in shamanic ceremonies.

We ask that you to honor that process, knowing that this is much more than an adornment. Each of the hundreds of beads are infused with prayer, a sacred thought. Wearing it with that intention will bring its true potential to light. This piece is a thousand prayers for you.
